No matter how untalented you are, you have got capacity to dream. I am not talking about what you see when asleep. No, rather those things you see with your eyes open. If you can dream, then you can give birth to a vision. Creating a vision and turning it into reality is your key to financial freedom.
Vision is that great thing you would do if you knew you could not fail. It is a vivid mental image of the future produced by your imagination. It is a long term destination. Your vision is that picture encapsulating your several dreams. Your dreams normally precede your vision. To have a valid vision, you must have dreams of what you want to do.
Generating your Vision
Create a quiet time for yourself. Find a quiet place where you can think undisturbed. If your house is not conducive, you might need to get away to a quiet place.
Do some serious soul searching. Analyze your current situation critically to determine where you are now; and where you would like to be. You must ask yourself whether you are happy with your present situation. If the answer is negative, then begin to think about what can be done to bring about a change.
Begin to write down your vision on paper. Though they may appear varied, just keep writing. Write them in every form imaginable. Then read what you have written. Remember, you have the freedom to keep writing until you have exhausted all possible ideas.
Now, begin to fine-tune what you have written. Edit and cancel until you can scream ‘I have got it’. Once you have got it, you would be bubbling with a passion that is visible to those around you.
Writing down the vision is a critical milestone for you as an aspiring entrepreneur. It determines the survival or otherwise of your venture. It is the roadmap that points you to a specific direction. When you don’t have a specific direction as an entrepreneur, you become a jack of all trades and a master of none. As an entrepreneur, you must be focused. Let people be able to identify you for a particular thing. The power of focus helps you to concentrate on a particular venture.
Believe in your Vision
As an entrepreneur, you need to be convinced of your vision in order to communicate it to all. Conviction is important for effective communication. If properly communicated, the vision will be appreciated by employees; they will key into it and seek to execute it as their own. For your entrepreneurial vision to be turned into reality it must be clearly articulated.
Turn it into Reality
Keep away from wet woods and embrace vision enablers. Wet woods are people who do not believe in you enough to sanction your going into business. Even if they are your family, keep your vision away from them.
Vision enablers are those people who are able to understand and run with your vision. In other words, they are those who buy into the vision. They believe in you and your abilities. Their interest is to see that your vision becomes a reality and they are willing to stake every resource at their disposal for this cause. Embrace them, for they help, encourage and advise you every step of the way.
In today’s global economy, the days of jobs-for-life are over. Get a grip on yourself and run with your vision. To your entrepreneurial success!
